Environment

McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) 10.x

Entrust 9.3

Problem

There are compatibility issues with ENS and Entrust 9.3, including the following:

Performance issues
After installation of ENS on a system with Entrust 9.3, the system doesn’t start after a reboot

Cause

The VTP service hangs while waiting for a response from Entrust.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Entrust 9.3 Update 200436, which is available only through Entrust Technical Support. Updates are cumulative; Entrust recommends that you install the latest one.

Workaround

Boot the system in Safe Mode. For instructions, see the Windows Safe Mode article.
Press Windows+R, type services.msc, and click OK.
Disable the Entrust logging service.
Reboot the system in Normal Mode.
