When an application (for example, a login script to add a signature for a user) opens Outlook and then the user opens Outlook, Outlook stops updating automatically and new email does not display until you restart Outlook (outlook.exe). This issue occurs only when the VirusScan Enterprise E-mail Scan Add-in is enabled; the issue does not occur when the E-mail Scan Add-in is disabled.


The Send/Receive operation failed in Outlook and the E-Mail Scan toolbar did not load when a third-party application launched Outlook in the background.


This issue is resolved in VirusScan Enterprise 8.8.0 Update 9, which is available from the Product Downloads site at: http://mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx.

Updates are cumulative; Technical Support recommends that you install the latest one.
