Required Microsoft Windows Updates for the use of SHA-2 certificates with McAfee products
技術的な記事 ID:
KB88794
最終更新: 1/29/2020 環境McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8
概要As part of the broader security industry push to deprecate the use of SHA-1 based certificates, McAfee products now use the more secure SHA-2 (also known as SHA256) based certificates. Certain McAfee files must be dual-signed with both SHA-1 and SHA-2 certificates. This requirement supports older Microsoft operating systems, such as Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, that do not recognize SHA-2.
Impact of these changes: Minimum Microsoft Windows Updates are required because of the use of the more secure SHA-2 based certificates. 問題
Without the required Microsoft Windows Updates to use SHA-2, issues might occur. Issues might include, but are not limited to, installation/upgrade failures. Example: An upgrade from VSE 8.8 Patch 5 to VSE 8.8 Patch 9 fails on a system without the required Microsoft Windows Updates. The following error is logged in <= leave custom action Install_SysCore_Patch() CustomAction Install_SysCore_Patch returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox) Action ended 23:13:25: InstallExecute. Return value 3. The following application events are logged for the process EVENT ID 11729 Product: McAfee VirusScan Enterprise -- Configuration failed. EVENT ID 1035 Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: McAfee VirusScan Enterprise. Product Version: 8.8.09000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: McAfee. Inc.. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603. 解決策
Install the minimum Microsoft Windows Updates that are required because of the use of the SHA-2 based certificates. For information about these updates, see the Microsoft article at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3123479.
