McAfee Endpoint Security for Linux Threat Prevention (ENSLTP) 10.2.1

Summary

This article contains the installation procedure for the patch ENSLTP 10.2.1.

Pre-requisite:
To use this patch, you must have ENSLTP 10.2.0 installed on the system you intend to update.

IMPORTANT: To support the following operating systems, you must first install ENSLTP 10.2.0 (Build number 624) and then apply this patch. ENSLTP 10.2.1 works only with these versions of the following software:
  • Debian 8.0 (On Debian 8.0 systems, only On-Demand Scanning is supported. On-Access Scanning is not supported.)
  • Fedora 22 (desktop and server)
  • Linux Mint 17.0 Qiana
  • OpenSUSE 42.1
  • Red Hat Enterprise For Linux (RHEL) workstation 6.x and 7.x
  • SUSE Linux Desktop 11 SP3
  • SUSE Linux Desktop 12 SP2

To install the software on standalone systems:
  1. Download ISecTP-10.2.1--<build_number>Release-Patch1-standalone.tar.gz to a temporary directory.
  2. Run the following commands in this sequence:
     
    # tar -zxvf ISecTP-10.2.1--<build_number>Release-Patch1-standalone.tar.gz
     
    For RHEL/SUSE/Oracle Enterprise Linux/CentOS platforms:
    #./setupPatch
     
    For Ubuntu platforms:
    # sudo ./setupPatch

To install the software using ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO):
  1. Check in the package to ePO:
    • Check in the package using Software Manager:
      1. Log on to the ePO console as an administrator.
      2. Select Menu, Software, Software Manager.
      3. From the Product Categories list under Software (By Label), select McAfee Endpoint Security For Linux 10.2, and from the Component section, select the package McAfee Endpoint Security for Linux 10.2.1 (Patch 1).
      4. Click Check in.
      5. On the Summary page, accept the McAfee End User License Agreement, and then click OK.
         
    • Check in the package manually to the Master Repository:
      1. Log on to the ePO console as an administrator.
      2. Select Menu, Software, Master Repository, Check In Package.
      3. For Package type, select Product or Update (.ZIP).
      4. Click Choose File, select ISecTP-10.2.1--Release-ePO.zip, click Choose, and then click Next.
      5. Select Current as the branch.
      6. Click Save.
         
  2. Create an Update task and deploy this patch package.

To remove the software:
To remove this patch and revert to the original setup, you must re-install the ENSLTP 10.2.0 software.
