Technical Articles ID:   KB88997
Last Modified:  6/17/2019

Environment

McAfee Management for Optimized Virtual Environments (MOVE)
McAfee MOVE AntiVirus (AV) Multi-Platform 4.x, 3.6.1
McAfee MOVE AV Multi-Platform Security Virtual Appliance (SVA) 4.x, 3.6.1
McAfee MOVE AV Multi-Platform Security Virtual Machine (SVM) 4.x, 3.6.1

For details of MOVE supported environments, see KB74865.

Summary

MOVE AV Multi-Platform SVA and SVM have client load (connection) limitations to prevent an overload from occurring. This article provides information regarding these limitations and how to properly configure the client connections to the SVA and/or SVM.

To configure the client load options follow the steps below.

For MOVE 4.x
  1. Go to MOVE Antivirus policy, SVM Settings.
  2. Select Multi-Platform only.
  3. Select one of the four Client Load options:
  • Low (Highest client load/connection total) - This is a maximum of 400 clients.
  • Medium (Moderate client load/connection total) - This is a maximum of 250 clients.
  • High (Fewest client load/connection total) - This is a maximum of 150 clients.
  • Custom  - Can be set to any value up to the maximum number of clients.
NOTE: Client Load option actually defines how many VMs can be handled by a single OSS.

For MOVE 3.6.1
  1. Go to MOVE AV Multi-Platform Offload Scan Server 3.6.1 policy.
  2. Select Click to view Advanced Options.
