ePolicy Orchestrator continues to display the previous version after a successful Drive Encryption upgrade
Technical Articles ID:   KB89072
Last Modified:  11/7/2017

Environment

McAfee Drive Encryption (DE) 7.x
McAfee Endpoint Encryption for PC (EEPC) 7.0.x

For details of DE supported environments, see KB79422.

Problem

After a successful upgrade to a later release on a client, some computers continue to display the previous version (that was installed on the client) in ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).

The reporting of completed installations by the McAfee Agent is inconsistent when viewing the computer properties from the ePO system tree or after running one of the DE ePO reports.

Cause

A system restart has not taken place on the client.

Solution

After successfully installing DE on the client, perform a system restart to complete the installation.

For assistance with installation or configuration, refer to the Drive Encryption Product Guide PD24867.
