McAfee Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) 10.0.x

You see one of the following errors during the ESM boot or shutdown sequence:
  • /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S51mfs is not a valid symlink.   [WARN]
  • /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K49mfs is not a valid symlink.   [WARN]

There is not a valid symbolic link target. Both /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S51mfs and /etc/rc.d/rc6.d/K49mfs refer /etc/rc.d/init.d/startmfs, but startmfs does not exist.

Technical Suppport is currently investigating this issue. These error messages can be safely ignored. There appears to be no significant impact on operational capability or performance.
