An ePolicy Orchestrator Disaster Recovery Snapshot task fails on a clustered ePO server
Technical Articles ID:   KB89130
Last Modified:  7/10/2018

Environment

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x

Problem

If ePO is installed in a cluster, the Disaster Recovery Snapshot server task fails. Error messages similar to the following are recorded in the orion.log:

ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-1] snapshot.SnapshotManager  - processSnapshotAll:: Error occurred while saving snapshot to database [ Invalid repository folder: repoR=<EPO_Install_Path>\bin\Server\..\DB\Software ] extension= RepositoryMgmt
ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-1] snapshot.SnapshotManager  - processSnapshotAll:: Error occurred while saving snapshot to database [ FAILED ]
ERROR [scheduler-TaskQueueEngine-thread-1] command.SnapshotServerCmd  - Snapshot Server process failed (see orion.log for details)

NOTE: <EPO_Install_Path> is the path where ePO is installed on the cluster shared drive.

Cause

This problem occurs if there is an extra folder called DB present in the <EPO_Install_Path>\bin folder.

Solution

Delete the <EPO_Install_Path>\bin\DB folder. The snapshot task now completes.
