Endpoint Security Web Control requires the Internet Explorer setting "Enable third-party browser extensions" to be enabled

Environment

McAfee Endpoint Security (ENS) Web Control 10.x
Microsoft Internet Explorer

Problem

ENS Web Control is enabled and the ENS Web Control extensions are enabled in Internet Explorer Manage add-ons, but ENS Web Control does not work and the toolbar does not load.

Cause

ENS Web Control requires Enable third-party browser extensions to be selected.

Solution

Perform the following steps to select the Internet Explorer setting Enable third-party browser extensions:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. In the menu bar, click Tools, Internet options.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Settings, scroll down to the Browsing section and select Enable third-party browser extensions.
  5. Click Apply and then OK.
  6. Reboot the system for settings to take effect.
