IP Address tags are not applied to each agent-to-server communication in ePolicy Orchestrator 5.9.0
Technical Articles ID:   KB89644
Last Modified:  9/15/2017

Environment

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.9.0

Problem

Tags are not applied to each agent-to-server communication when using IP Address or other network criteria in ePO 5.9.0.

System Change

Installed or upgraded to ePO 5.9.0.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePO 5.9.1, which is available from the Product Downloads site at: http://mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx

NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 provides additional information about the Product Downloads site and alternate locations for some products.

Updates are cumulative; Technical Support recommends that you install the latest one.

Workaround

Configure a Server Task to apply the tag based on the same IP Address criteria.

NOTE: This will not apply on each agent to server communication, but it can be scheduled to run regularly with only minimal delay.
  1. Open the ePO console.
  2. Select the menu, select Automation, and then select Server tasks.
  3. Click New Task, name the task, and then click Next.
  4. Click Action and choose Run Tag Criteria.
  5. Select the appropriate Tag from within the sub-menu.
  6. Schedule the server task (hourly or more frequently, as needed), and then click Next.
  7. Save the server task and run it once manually to verify the tags are appropriately assigned.
