McAfee SIEM Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) 10.x.x, 9.6.x

Selecting Case Management results in the Case ID sequentially increasing normally (40, 41, 42, 43...), but then skipping several thousand numbers and increasing sequentially again (8193, 8194, 8195, 8196...).

This issue is usually the result of the database not having been shut down properly (for example, a hard reboot or kill of the dbserver).

This behavior occurs by design to ensure that data integrity is maintained. It is considered normal and is expected to occur when the database has not been properly shut down.
