An encrypted FRP file is decrypted when the user either:
- Attaches the file in an Outlook email using the Attach File menu option.
NOTE: When browsing to the file with Outlook, the file does not show as encrypted, but the actual file stays encrypted when viewing through My Computer (Windows Explorer).
- Browses to the file using Windows Explorer and right-clicks the encrypted file to use the Windows context menu, then clicks Send To, Mail Recipient.
A recipient receives the email with the attached file decrypted.
The correct FRP policy option
Enable sending of encrypted email attachments is selected.
The
FRP 5.x Product Guide states that user-initiated encryption of files and email attachments
allows users to create and attach password‑encrypted executable files that can be decrypted on systems where FRP is not installed.
But, the following methods leave the file encrypted:
- Drop the encrypted file into a new email.
- Right-click the encrypted file and select Attach Encrypted to Email. This method creates the email.
