Technical Articles ID:   KB89940
Last Modified:  7/31/2019

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x
McAfee ePO Pre-Installation Auditor (PIA) tool 2.1.0, 2.0.0

NOTE: Pre-Installation Auditor tool is also known as the Installation and Upgrade Precheck tool.

The ePO Pre-Installation Auditor tool sometimes reports a failure for the 'SQL Server System RSA Compatibility' check. This report might occur even if SSL communications are not being used between ePO and the SQL Server.

This issue is resolved with ePO Pre-Installation Auditor tool build

NOTE: Pre-Installation Auditor tool 3.0 is available from the Product Downloads site.

To view other ePO Pre-Installation Auditor known issues, see KB88906.

This issue is similar to a false positive. The tool indicates that the conditions for upgrade are not met, even though an upgrade might succeed.

If the tool reports a failure for this check, see KB87731 and check the cipher suite order on the SQL Server. If needed, modify it as the article instructs. When the cipher suite order is correct, the upgrade to ePO 5.9.0 or later can succeed.
