Multi-pathing of SIEM appliances can be performed using the multiple physical interfaces and storage options they possess. But, some forms of multi-pathing are not supported. The forms of multi-pathing not supported are:
- Multi-pathing a primary and a redundant appliance to use the same storage, same volume, same folder.
- Multi-pathing to use the same storage, same volume, same folder for two different appliances.
- Using the same iSCSI LUN for two different appliances.
NOTES: Most appliance features do not work when multi-pathing. When one appliance uses a storage location, it locks it and prevents others from connecting to it. This reason is why the methods, mentioned above, are not supported. Multi-pass is a synonym used to describe multi-pathing in different operating systems.
