Problem

The McAfee Agent Smart Scheduler Extension version 5.3.3 can leak connections to the SQL database. The eventual result can be an inability to connect to the SQL database because of port exhaustion.

The ePolicy Orchestrator logon page might display a warning similar to the following:
 
The license for ePolicy Orchestrator is invalid
 
The orion.log contains a more detailed error message:

java.sql.SQLException: com.mcafee.orion.core.db.base.DatabaseConnectivityException: Failed to get a connection: Network error IOException: No buffer space available

System Change

You upgraded to ePO 5.10 or installed McAfee Agent 5.5.3 Smart Scheduler Extension.

Solution

This issue is resolved in McAfee Agent 5.5.3 Hotfix 1247836 (HF1247836), which has been released to support.

McAfee investigated this issue and a solution is currently available. This solution is currently not generally available, but is in Released to Support (RTS) status. To obtain the RTS build, log on to the ServicePortal and create a Service Request (https://support.mcafee.com/ServicePortal/faces/serviceRequests/createSR). Include this article number in the Problem Description field.
