Summary

This article helps you to determine the USB file encryption performance.

Problem

Input/Output (I/O) speed operations are impacted for every USB disk file operation.

This issue is seen on systems that have a third-party data loss prevention software installed

Cause

FRP encrypted files are also being scanned through a third-party data loss prevention application.

Solution

Take the following action on the client with the issue:

Open a command prompt as an administrator.
1. Press the Windows key + R.
2. In the Start Search field, type cmd, and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
3. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
In the command window, type the following command, and press Enter:

Fltmc.exe

NOTE:

- Symantec DLP 15.5 process name is EDPA.exe.
- The output confirms if any third-partly DLP filters are installed on the problem system.
To resolve the problem, either:
- Include MfeEERM.exe Process to the allow list through the third-party DLP console.
  Or
- Remove the third-party DLP product.
