Platform ID incorrectly reported as MLOS and not a supported Linux system

Problem

Managed Linux systems are reported incorrectly back to ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) as MLOS.

When you look at the systems properties, the PlatformID is reported as MLOS, but the selected systems are not MLOS.

The properties that McAfee Agent collects and sends to the ePO Server are incorrect.

Cause

McAfee Agent does not collect the correct properties from the client.

NOTE: Product functionality is not affected by having MLOS as the ProductID.

Solution

The issue is resolved with McAfee Agent 5.6.5, which is available from the Product Downloads site and the ePO Software Manager.
