McAfee Agent on macOS 11 is reported incorrectly as macOS 10.16

Apple macOS 11.0 (Big Sur)

Problem

When you install McAfee Agent 5.6.6 Hotfix 1 or later on a macOS system that runs macOS 11.0 (Big Sur), it is reported back incorrectly to ePO as macOS 10.16.

You see this issue under the Operating System computer properties.

Cause

This issue is expected if apps are developed with a 10.x version of the Macintosh XCODE. McAfee Agent is compiled with XCODE SDK 10.14

Solution

McAfee plans to release an updated McAfee Agent with a later version of XCODE. That update allows the McAfee Agent to report macOS 11.

The issue is cosmetic and does not affect how the agent functions.
