Environment

McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10 Update 10

Problem

Remote access to the ePO console is blocked after the installation of ePO 5.10. Update 10.

The above issue is seen on servers where the local firewall is enabled.

The inbound Windows firewall rule shows only Tomcat7.exe is allowed:

Cause

When ePolicy Orchestrator is installed, it adds firewall rules to allow the ePO service ports the needed access for communication.

Earlier versions of ePO added Tomcat7.exe in the firewall rule.

When you apply update 10, the rule is not updated to reflect the new tomcat9.exe process.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePO 5.10.0 Update 11, which is available from either the Software Catalog or the Product Downloads site.

Workaround

You need to update the inbound Windows firewall rules manually and change tomcat7.exe to tomcat9.exe.
