Write denied event generated when you right-click a solidified file

Environnement

McAfee Application and Change Control (MACC) 8.x, 7.x, 6.x

Problème

A Write Denied event is generated when you right-click a solidified file.

NOTE: MACC doesn’t block anything, but only generates a Write Denied event.

Example:

solidcore.log:

Cause

The above behavior occurs because of how Windows explorer.exe requests a read, or execute access to the file.

Solution

This behavior is expected. Any attempt to fix this issue, can cause MACC to bypass other logging events, which it generates to monitor or track any type of change.
For example, change in ownership.
