The recovery install failure occurs because the snapshot contained in the ePO Database is incomplete. A snapshot captured on a ePO 5.10 Update 10 server that was previously restored from a snapshot with ePO 5.10 Update 10 applied, does
not capture all components of
TargetExtension (
EPOCore database). Also, the entries listed below are missing:
- EPOSnapshotFiles
- EPOSnapshotDirectory
As a result, when the recovery install is performed, the required tomcat9 files are not properly restored.
To confirm if the snapshot contained in the ePO SQL database is incomplete, run the SQL query below:
select * from eposnapshotfiles
Result actions:
- If select * from eposnapshotfiles returns 0 rows, the snapshot is incomplete. The snapshot must be re-created using Workaround 1 provided below.
- If you are unable to generate a new snapshot, follow Workaround 2 to restore ePO.
