For all issues, gather the MCP MER Log (debug logging enabled).
For Redirection related Issues, also take a Wireshark capture of the session and list the IP addresses hosts involved.
To enable debug logging:
- Enable MCP Policy for debug logging:
- Click ePO, Menu, MCP Policy.
- Select the needed policy, and then click Client Configuration.
- Click Log File Settings (OS X Only), and then click Log all messages.
- Enable AAC for debug logging:
- Open a command-line session.
- Open /usr/local/McAfee/fmp/AAC/var/logConfig.xml as administrator:
Type sudo vi /usr/local/McAfee/fmp/AAC/var/logConfig.xml and press Enter.
- Scroll to the entry.
- Set LogSeverityLevel to 6
For example:
<LogSeverityLevel>6</LogSeverityLevel>
- Restart the host.
Gather the MCP MER Log:
- Click the MAC icon, and then click McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac.
- Click Console, and then click Help.
- Click Run MerTool.
- Save the log and send it to Technical Support.
Gather a crash report if it is present:
- Click the MAC icon, and then click Console.
- Select Crash Reports.
- Check for processes crashes (mcpd, fmpd, networkextesion) in the console and report them to Technical Support.
- Go to the crash report folder: /Library/Logs/DiagonosticReports/
- Copy the folder and send it to Technical Support.
