VSE and Host IPS reach End of Life (EOL) on December 31, 2021. Perpetual licenses for VSE and Host IPS entitle you to install the product. The perpetual license doesn’t include content updates or Technical Support for the products.
Extended Support is available for customers who need more time to migrate to Endpoint Security (ENS) 10.7 and need to maintain V2 DAT, IPS Signatures, and Engine content, as well as Technical Support for VSE/Host IPS beyond EOL.
Customers who want to continue to receive and use V2 DAT, IPS Signatures, and Engine content updates or Technical Support after December 31, 2021, must purchase Extended Support by that date.
IMPORTANT: Any further use of V2 DAT, IPS Signatures, and Engine content or Technical Support beyond December 31, 2021, without an Extended Support agreement is a violation of your license and is subject to audit by the McAfee Enterprise Licensing and Compliance team. Customers choosing to use VSE or Host IPS beyond its EOL without Extended Support are required to maintain VSE/Host IPS with its final content update as of December 31, 2021.
To take precautionary steps in making sure that you aren’t found in violation of this requirement, customers without Extended Support should proactively disable V2 DATs, IPS Signatures, and Engine content from any content update tasks. Steps to complete this requirement are available below.
