SummaryAn APT, identified as the LuoYu attack group active since 2014 and believed to have origins in China, was recently seen using the WinDealer information stealer to target expatriate and dissidents as well as the technology, media, and education sectors. WinDealer is a modular information stealer that gathers and exfiltrates information on the targeted device including system information as well as screen, video, and audio captures. Once the target machine has been successfully compromised, WinDealer creates several folders for staging, configuration access, and communication with the attacker controlled C2 server. The McAfee Enterprise ATR Team gathers and analyzes information from multiple open and closed sources before disseminating intelligence reports.
