Summary
Description of Campaign
A threat actor used IcedID contained in an ISO image to infect systems with the Quantum ransomware family. The operation used PsExec, Net, ipconfig, Nltest, IcedID, AdFind, and Cobalt Strike to carry out the infection process. The attacker gathered a range of system information from the device but wasn't observed exfiltrating the data before encryption.
Our ATR Team gathers and analyzes information from multiple open and closed sources before disseminating intelligence reports. This campaign was researched by DFIR and shared publicly.
