Description

The following vulnerabilities were published on September 22, 2016, and then revised on September 26, 2016 in the following Security Advisories:

  • CVE-2016-2182
  • CVE-2016-7052
DLP Prevent 10.0.100 consumes a version of OpenSSL vulnerable to the published vulnerability CVE-2016-6304. DLP Prevent 10.0.101 has an upgraded version of OpenSSL that is not vulnerable.

ePO 5.1.3 (and earlier) and ePO 5.3.2 (and earlier) consume a version of OpenSSL vulnerable to the published vulnerabilities. ePO has upgraded to OpenSSL 1.0.2j in this latest security hotfix.

VSEL 1.9.2 (and earlier) and VSEL 2.0.3 (and earlier) consume a version of OpenSSL vulnerable to the published vulnerability CVE-2016-2183. VSEL has patched httpd.conf and upgraded to OpenSSL 1.01u in this latest security hotfix.

Remediation

For DLP Prevent, this issue is remediated with DLP Prevent Hotfix 10.0.101. For further details, see PD26803 - Data Loss Prevention Prevent Hotfix 10.0.101 Release Notes.

For ePO, this issue is remediated with ePO 5.x Hotfix 1159423, which applies to FIPS mode as well. This fix will be included in the next ePO patch when scheduled.
  • Users of ePO 5.1.x should upgrade to ePO 5.1.3, 5.3.1, or 5.3.2 and then apply hotfix EPO5xHF1159423.zip.
  • Users of ePO 5.3.0 should upgrade to ePO 5.3.1 or 5.3.2 and then apply hotfix EPO5xHF1159423.zip.

For VSEL, this issue is remediated with Hotfix 1139720 (for version 1.9.x) by disabling '3DES' in httpd.conf and Hotfix 1156487 (for version 2.0.x) by upgrading OpenSSL to version 1.0.1u. For further details, refer to the hotfix installation instructions in:

Check the version and build of DLP Prevent that is installed using the appliance management extension.

For Endpoint products:
Use the following instructions for endpoint or client based products:

  2. Select Open Console.
  3. In the console, select Action Menu.
  4. In the Action Menu, select Product Details. The product version is displayed.
