In some circumstances you may need to manually update the Anti-Virus Scanning Engine or DATs. For example:
  • You are testing an update on a test system.
  • An update failed and you are troubleshooting by attempting to perform a manual update.
  • There is an issue that is blocking a system from performing an update.
  • You have a stand-alone system that does not use a central update repository.
