Summary

This article contains important information about known issues of high or medium rating that are outstanding with this product release. McAfee Agent (MA) 4.8 Patch 1 is currently Released to World (RTW). This means that the product is available to all customers via the McAfee Downloads site and ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) Software Manager. For more information about Release Cycles, see KB51560.

NOTE: Posting to ePO Software Manager occurred on August 21, 2013.

IMPORTANT: The original McAfee Agent 4.8.0 Patch 1 Extension ( 4.8.0.329) was reposted on July 3, 2013 to address the issue described in KB78634.  

McAfee product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available from the Product Downloads site at: http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/downloads.aspx.

KB77630  Issue: You see incorrect system properties OS Build Number and Free System Drive Space in ePO for non-Windows systems.
818917   Issue: MA upgrade from 4.6.x was unsuccessful on some Windows XP SP3 32-bit systems when Avecto Privilege Guard was installed and a reboot had not occurred since the Privilege Guard installation.
Workaround: Avecto Privilege Guard strongly recommends a restart of the system after installation. Alternatively, restarting Avecto Privilege Guard allows a successful agent upgrade.
848182   Issue: If the MA 4.8 Help extension is installed on an ePO server at version 4.6.6 (or earlier) before updating the server to ePO 5.0, the MA Help cannot be viewed by Norwegian users after the migration.
Workaround: After upgrading your ePO server to version 5.0, reinstall the MA 4.8 Help extension.
848114   Issue: The MA 4.8 Help content is not available even if the McAfee Help extension is installed on ePO 4.5 and 4.6.
Workaround: There is separate help extension available for ePO 4.5 and 4.6.
797382   Issue: When client tasks are compared in ePO, the output displays string IDs instead of the actual strings.
